Lärabar, the Gateway Food
Much like their are gateway drugs, gateway foods are foods that are mainstream and safe enough to bring the message of raw-foods to the masses. LäraBar, from Humm Foods, is a perfect example of a "raw gateway food". It is cheap (because it isn't organic), simple and widely available, (Whole Foods has taken them national).
Taste: Compared to other raw-junk-food, LäraBars are so, so. Because they can get a little chalky and dry, they make you thirsty. The use of nuts is also heavy, so don't plan on eating more than one at a time.
If you haven't tried a Lärabar, we'd recommend Apple Pie and Banana Cookie. If you have tried a Lärabar and are ready for something else, we recomend Goji Bar.

Thank you for the wonderful information. I look forward to trying out the larabar.

Fascinated by the concept of a green smoothie.
Please recommend recipes with ingredients which I can obtain at UK shops.
