Vitamins 101
Vitamins rawk! They provide the necessary substrates for out bodies to carry out all the chemical reactions that keep us going strong and looking young. Vitamins, along with minerals, are the key to amazing health.
We are told by our very loving doctors and drug companies that if we are deficient in a certain vitamin we should take traditional vitamin supplements to make up for the deficiency. And boy do we listen! You would think with all the vitamins we take here in America that we would have a country of super-humans running around all healthy and happy. But unfortunately no, it doesn't work that way. That's why westerners have the most expensive urine in world! All the low quality vitamins our country is fixated on show up in urine because the body doesn't know what to do with vitamins that 1) don't come in proper combinations, (magnesium needs calcium) & 2) that are molecularly too big for the body, (most man-made vitamins are colloidal in size, our body prefers angstrom).
If you are taking traditional vitamins remember that fat soluble vitamins, vitamins A, D, E, K, are vitamins that can accumulate very quickly when overdosed. Because these vitamins are stored in fat cells, it easier for our body to accumulate toxic levels. Excess Vitamin A leads to increased intracranial pressure (increase pressure in your head and on your spinal cord). Excess vitamin D can lead hypercalcemia (excess calcium) because Vitamin D helps our bodies to absorb calcium. These are some of the long terms side effects of a supplement overdoser.
This may be a news flash for some, but eating a diet rich in raw and organic foods naturally provides vitamins in the proportions created by nature. And for those looking to naturally supplement their diet, try whole food supplements instead of GNC Vitamin A. Products like Pure Synergy and other whole food supplements available from rawfood.com will do the trick.
Remember, nature was there first, then we came and adopted our diet around it to survive. If our genetics were created around cheetos and oreos maybe junk food would be optimal - scary thought.
