Pure Mojitos
- 1 big handful mint leaves
- 1 cup lime juice
- 1/4 cup agave nectar
- 1 cup sake
- 1 cup ice cubes
- 1 cup champagne or sparkling white wine
Using the back of a spoon, mash the mint in the bottom of a pitcher or shaker with the lime juice and agave nectar. Divide between two rocks glasses. Add the sake and ice and stir. Top with champagne and serve with a straw.
*Special thanks to Sarma, Kathleen, and the Pure Food & Wine team for sending over this amazing recipe. See this older post to see how much fun the We Like It Raw Squad had making this special drink.

I'm going to try this out this holiday! Can't wait!

color me confused, but aren't sake and champagne decidedly not raw?

Jose, you are correct about the sake. I'll include an explination from Sarma about that. Champagne, however, is raw.

Dhrumil, thanks for the clarification. I'll look forward to the explanation. If possible, it be great if that made its way to the mainpage so it wasn't necesarry to check back here (I'm sure I am not the only forgetful person around)

i don't drink alcohol so here is a recipe that i concocted last night. i'm brand new to the raw lifestyle but it is my own personal belief that it turned out pretty good.
5 kale leaves (without stems)
5 mint leaves
1 cup of COLD water
juice of 1 lime (pulp optional)
ginger (optional)
blend well. serve with umbrella and sit back and watch the taxis roll by =).
