Mango Avocado Salad

Via greenchefs.tv & raw chef, Vanessa Sherwood

This really is one of the best combinations ever. Simple, elegant, and sensuous. Apparently there are over 400 varieties of mango worldwide. My favorite, from the three or four varieties I've tried, is the champagne mango. I'm seriously considering a trip to India just to sample mangoes.

  • 2 Ripe Mangoes, peeled, pitted and chopped
  • 1 Large Avocado, peeled, pitted and chopped
  • 1 Tablespoon Lime Juiced
  • 2 Teaspoons Olive Oil
  • 1 Tablespoon Cilantro Leaves
  • 1 Tablespoon Black Sesame Seeds

Hand mix all of the ingredients together and serve.

I was not sure about this recipe but I gave it a shot anyway.......omg it's amazing.

I don't know when the mango/avocado salad was posted, but remember to take me along on that trip to India if you haven't left yet to savor the different mangoes. And if you already went, comment on your trip. I will definitely try this recipe. Thank you.

I don't like olive oil...can you suggest a substitute. Thank you!

How many does this serve? Would love to make this for guests. (I just did one mango and one avocado with some lime juice and olive oil, and it is filling for one! Didn't have the sesame seeds or cilantro on hand - will try the whole thing next time!)
