Peaceful Warrior

Today the WLIR Squad will be checking out an advance East Coast screening of the movie A Peaceful Warrior. Most of us have read the book, which we absolutely love, but having a chance to see this transformational movie is going to be an added bonus. And with moral support from Eckhart Tolle, Tony Robbins, and Deepak Chopra, you know this movie is going to be good!

Has anyone else read the book or seen the movie?

I thought the movie was so bad it was good. I personally found it appallingly pretentious... which was kind of funny at times.

I only went to see it because supposedly there is some mention of raw food in the book which I saw none of in the movie.

To me it's like a (really) poor man's version of "Good Will Hunting" or something.

I also went to the pre-screening (in Seattle) and thought that the film was really outstanding. We need more films like this in the theater. I also did see the sceeen showing "socrates" feeding the gymnast (main character) a bowl of fruit for dinner...pretty cool!

You can my write-up here of the movie here:

Lisa Hamilton

We just saw this movie today and really loved it! Nick Nolte was wonderful as Socrates. I would love to have this movie on DVD.
