I wonder how he eats his kale. I can only eat mine in salads with lemon-based dressing or else with nut-based pate's and spreads as a wrap, but I feel like I eat too much lemon juice and would love to hear how he does it. Could we get some tips, other than avacado, (which I also already eat a lot of)? Thanks!

Great interview! I really enjoyed it!
I'm curious about how many calories he consumes, and how much fat as well:)
Thanks!

Jungle girl, may I share with you the recipe I use for kale salad. I have eaten it everday for about a year now, a tota addiction! Based on Chad Sarno's recipe in Vital Creations:
1/2 bag or head of kale
1 teasp salt - or to taste
3 tomatoes
1 avocado 1-2 teasp cayenne pepper. - or to taste I use ALOT!
2 tbsp olive oil.
Rip up the tomatoes avocado and kale, add the salt, cayenne and oil and massage it all together with your hands, yum yum yum!

Thanks, Zoe! It sounds good but I don't eat tomatos because it's virtually impossible to be sure they're not GMO'd even when organic (via pollen)...which is so vexing, as I do love tomatos...but I will play around with your/Chad's recipe. Thank you!
I've been using one head each of super chopped kale, parsley and cilantro; celery, lemon, olive oil, splash of tamari and about 1/4 cup of spirulina flakes and sometimes nutri yst but not lately. I call it the Celestine salad. That's been my favorite for two years, but the lemon juice is too much now...I can see that the key will be the avo. And this is a nice change as a way for me to eat avo's other than in nori wraps which I live on.

Thank you very much, Dhru and Nature. I have been waiting to something like this! I don't know any people who would understand or want to understand thinking this way, so I often feel rather isolated in some ways. It was wonderful to hear your discussion :)

I just listened to your interview with Nature Love. How very candid and inspiring. I'm always impressed with a person showing the average public that you can own awesome muscle mass without animal protein. I'm new to raw and I'm trying to convert my 17 year old son who is taking weight lifting in school. His coach has him convinced the only way to get large muscles is by eating dead animals for protein. I'm working on my pretty petite muscles. Maybe I'll win him over yet. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Aloha, Rose

Hey Nature and Dhru,
I have a couple of questions. First, what are some basic nutritional building blocks all raw foodists should have in their diet? Second, how can I maintain sufficient protein intake to actually gain muscle? I am in blue collar work so it is important for me to have adequate strength. Third, what is the best way to eat kale? Hahaha, I can munch it down plain, but i don't enjoy it much. Thank you for your time. I'm looking forward to the interview this coming friday.

Thank you so much for posting this Dru...I love listening to podcasts like this because it keeps me motivated to keep up with my raw lifestyle. The part where you talk about needing friends and mentors to support you and help you maintain raw life is so true. I do not have many people here to talk to about it with, as I am the only one of my friends that eats raw, but having someone like you and Nature share these conversations makes me feel like I have support and can learn a lot from you both. When you share these conversations it helps me stay excited about my decision to live how I do. You guys are now my mentors in a way :)
