Last week I was invited to HealthCorp's Annual Charity Gala by my good friends Rachel Goldstein and Kris Carr. HealthCorp is a non-profit started by Dr. Mehmet Oz. The organization primarily focuses on transforming the health of inner city kids by creating healthy lunch programs and in-school food education programs. The organization has only been around since 2003, but already they've made an incredible impact.
The annual gala was a fantastic opportunity to support HealthCorp's mission and celebrate the overall growing awareness of the importance of food education. The gala was also a reflection of the wide range of people that Dr. Oz brings together. Here are a few photos from the night.
Rachel Goldstein (former director of events at the Urban Zen Foundation, now director of events at The Standard Hotel in NYC), Dr Oz (founder of HealthCorp), and Kris Carr (founder of Crazy Sexy Life). Big thanks to these lovely women for inviting me to hang out with them in the first place. These two women are two of my favorite community connectors. They are incredible at bringing people together.

I look up to Kris Carr so much. She is the ultimate wellness ambassador. She is an incredible speaker, she is truly passionate about her mission, she is compassionate and aware of the views of others, and she is crazy humble. You can learn more about her work at crazysexylife.com
Kris Carr, Bart and Joy Pierson (founders of Candle 79 & Candle Cafe), Rachel Goldstein, and Benay Vynerib (COO of Candle Cafe and Candle 79).
Latham Thomas is a close friend of mine that specializes in working with pregnant women and women who are trying to get pregnant. She hosts special yoga classes, takes women through prenatal cleanses and also hosts live food workshops. She is a rock star and her son looks like her could be in a Gap commercial.
Myself, Dr Mark Hyman, his lovely wife and Kris Carr. Dr Hyman is a New York Times -bestselling author, lecturer, and practicing physician. He is a YouTube star and one of HuffPost's most respected authors.
Alanae Kornfeld, editor of the Living section of HuffPost. The Living section is one of the most incredible alternative health hubs online. Everyone from David Wolfe to Dr Hyman to Deepak Chopra blogs there. Highly recommend checking it out.
Kris Carr and Agapi Stassinopoulos (author, lecturer, and sister to Arianna Huffington).
