The House of Verona, a health retreat near Toronto, Canada, is hosting a non-profit 100% raw retreat from Friday, Sept 24th to Sunday, Sept 26th, 2010. It's being hosted by Jen and Mike Laur, a 100% raw couple who own a catering company called Raw Love, Live Food Catering. The reason why the retreat is non-profit is because Jen and Mike wanted to make it as accessible and easy as possible for people to get healthy, get motivated, and get educated.

The menu consists of a mixture of comfort gourmet dehydrated food to help transition, and fresh, organic simple raw food to facilitate detox. Meals include pizza, bruschetta, caesar salad, granola, green juice, nut milk, a Thai-spiced casserole, shepherd's pie, cinnamon rolls, reishi and maca-infused chocolate bars, and sprout salads.

Activities on the schedule includes a trip to a local natural and organic farm, outdoor hatha yoga, a mountain hike up Blue Mountain past a spring-water waterfall, or a beach visit (weather permitting). Jen and Mike will also deliver a lecture on the top 5 superfoods, greens, and tonic herbs, why they went raw, and the benefits they experienced.

The House of Verona is run and owned by a raw vegan, the lovely Yafa Sakkejha. The retreat center is a cluster of 8 large ski chalets equipped with hot tubs, steam baths, a private pool, wrap-around decks, and stunning views of Blue Mountain and the adjacent golf course.
