Meet Heather Scott!
For our FIRST "Friday Featured Person", I am thrilled to bring you Heather Scott and she is doing some awesome things! Heather is the founder of Purple Plant Smoothies. She started this company in San Francisco in 2011 as a way to help educate and spread the love of high quality, healthy foods, while also supporting local farmers.
Heather operates from an Outdoor Venders Cart at the Civic Center Farmers Market in the summer months, as well as offering Smoothie Delivery and Catering services year round.
Some of her amazing creations are Nuttin-Honey, Pumpkin Spice, Cran-Apple, Citrus Bliss, Dating Melon and Bittersweet Berry.
She uses local, organic produce and sweetens her delicious creations with whole food sweeteners such as dates or honey. They also contain either kale or spinach for amazing health benefits!
More about Heather
As a former Division I Cross Country and Track runner and running coach, she’s always had a strong passion for good health throughout her life. She became an NASM Certified Personal Trainer in 2010, in order to help people on their paths to becoming healthier through exercise. However, she quickly realized that exercise alone doesn’t make someone healthier overall. Proper nutrition is a necessary component.
Eating greens regularly has really improved her life. Drinking healthy, whole food smoothies every morning has made her more alive and full of energy, she feels stronger during her runs, her skin clears, she’s not as sick as she used to be and she maintains a healthy weight with moderate exercise.
Purple Plant Smoothies are an affordable, tasty and convenient way to eat healthier, especially on the go! These smoothies are pesticide-free and are made with nothing more than pure fruits, veggies, roots and natural sweeteners such as honey and dates. They are also 100% dairy-free.
Heather has provided us with one of her healthy raw smoothie recipes! This creamy, natural and dairy free smoothie makes for a great healthy breakfast on the go, or a nice pick me up in the afternoon hours.
- 1 handful of fresh spinach
- 1-2 sweet mango, fresh or frozen
- Enough water to blend into a smooth smoothie
- 2-4 ice cubes, you wont need ice cubes if your using frozen mangos
Add all ingredients to the blender and blend until smooth and creamy! Enjoy!
