Aging and Liver Detoxification

Aging is something we can’t escape. But how well we age depends on the lifestyle choices we make. Taking care of our bodies by eating healthy food, exercising, having healthy relationships, fulfilling work, joy and love all contribute to our aging well. In essence, keep our body detoxified on a mental, spiritual and physical level is critical to our health. 

The liver, takes on a huge load when it comes to keeping us detoxified. It is the hardest working organ in the body. Our liver performs over 500 functions! The thousands of enzymes systems that control the activity in the body are created in the liver. 

A healthy liver is essential for anti aging because, among other things, it responsible for making components that are critical for internal and external well being. The liver creates glutathione which gives the skin a healthy glow, regulates blood sugar, boosts immune system and helps combat osteoarthritis.

Other responsibilities of the liver are fighting infection, cleansing the blood, storing vitamins and minerals, controlling cholesterol, breaking down hormones, helps control blood pressure, storing energy and so much more.  

Everything that comes in though your mouth, you breathe in through your nose or absorb through your skin, increase the stress load on the liver. When the liver gets clogged and doesn’t function efficiently, you can see how much can go wrong.
