It's Time for Spring Cleansing!
Spring is in the air! I see little buds emerging on the trees, the birds are singing and despite the occasional snow flurry, there is fresh green grass coming up! I have to say, moving from Southern California where we mostly get some variations of summer warmth, I have enjoyed the seasons here in Utah. (But I’m ready for some sunshine!)
Being indoors far more often than I’m used to and the chilly temps have caused me to not be as active outdoors and eat heavier foods than I’m used and consequently I’ve gained some weight. I’m ready for a Spring Cleanse. How about you?
Many of us do go on seasonal detox and cleanse programs and there are many to choose from. It’s not a complicated process with a little direction.
In the Avocado Smoothie eBook I featured last week that Dr Ariel Policano and I released last November, we have a 21 Day Raw Food Menu with recipes PLUS an entire section for cleansing techniques with recipes for the body as well.
You can read more about the ebook here: http://www.womengoraw.com/2011/10/19/avocado-smoothie-with-21-day-power-plan/
In this video Jane, from BlendItandMendit.com reviews a recipe from our eBook. This recipe is a great one for jump starting your cleanse!
As you launch into your Spring Cleanse, you may want to consider doing a Liver and Gallbladder Cleanse as well. I refer to MASTER Liver Cleanse Goddess, Elaina Love’s program. For the eBook that gives you very specific easy to follow instructions, click here: http://www.purejoyplanet.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=LGBF%2DEBOOK
Another amazing cleanse I did a few months back is The Clean Program. This isn’t an all raw program but it rocks! There is a comprehensive protocol, supplements, probiotics and access to a team of wellness coaches for support. For info on this program, click here: http://www.cleanprogram.com/cleanses/the-clean-program-cleanse.html
A few things you can do in the mean time.....
- Cut back the amount of cooked and heavy foods in your diet and replace them with more raw fruits, veggies, salads and fresh green juices.
- Get outside and go for a walk or hop on the rebounder to get your lymphatic system moving, which is critical in cleansing.
- Do some Skin Brushing to slough off dead skin cells, kick up your circulation and assist the lymph system.
- Drink more water! Add fresh lemon, lime or some cucumbers.
What are YOUR favorite Spring Cleansing techniques?
