In a world filled with mis-education and bad press (for vegan parents), 8 multitasking mothers are here to set the record straight about what it takes to be a healthy, happy, raw food mommy.
RawMom.com has been around since Feb 2008, but I've only recently had a chance to dive into the site and appreciate the plethora of information. If you're knew to Raw Mom, like me, here are 3 great posts to start you off:

Stella Magazine, a supplemental included in UK's Sunday Telegraph, recently profiled the gorgeous Karen Knowler, and her raw diet, in a feature they did called Food Diaries.
If you've ever wondered what schedule of a happy, healthy and successful raw foodist looks like, take a look:
7am I drink a pint of water. I used to weigh 12 stone and eat anything that was put in front of me. Now I don't eat until I feel hungry. My five-year-old son has breakfast while I do his packed lunch.
9am-10am Go to the gym where I swim or work out with a personal trainer. I do 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weights.11.30am I work from home and after I've checked my emails I have green juice - a blend of spinach, pineapple, apple, celery, cucumber, lemon and lime. After becoming a vegetarian, I got into raw food in 1993. My stepfather is a butcher and my family thought I was going to die! But cooked food is less nutritious because heat destroys enzymes, water, oxygen, vitamins and minerals.
Damn, we haven't even hit 1pm and Karen's already making serious moves. Click here to see how Karen spends the rest of her day

On March 17, 2007 Shazzie was invited to share her thoughts about Superfoods on UK's Channel Five (see the clip). Given the fact that she only had a minute to make her point, Shazzie totally killed it. She was smart, strait to the the point and of course, beautiful. Instead of throwing out facts and figures, Shazzie made the most convincing argument possible:
Host: "Shazzie, defend Superfoods."
Shazzie: "Look at me I'm 38. I feel like a 21 year old!"
Brilliant!
As a follow up to the program Shazzie created a 4 part video series called: Superfoods Are For Real. This video series is filled with detailed information on the power of Superfoods. The series is also a broadcast of truth that cuts through the plethora of noise that unhealthy dietitians and nutritionist put out there.
Its funny and sad how there's more true health information available on YouTube then there is on your local media station. Way to bring it to the people Shazzie!
Here is the first video in the series and you can find the rest of them below:

Ya, so we don't want to get into all The View drama, but we would like to give props to Alicia Silverstone for standing up, or rather, moving to the side for what she believes. Much love Alicia.

Jenna Norwood was pretty fit when she was younger. Fit enough to have even done some modeling. But as the years passed, and her SAD diet continued, her body paid the price. Jenna didn't want to acknowledge the obvious. She continued ignored the signs until one day the signs were too big to ignore. While trying on a Las Vegas show girl costume (for a Halloween Party), Jenna finally realized just how much junk-in-the-trunk she'd been towing. It was time for change.
Jeena had a few friends who had seen pretty good results eating a primarily raw diet, so she gave it a shot. But there was an added twist. She decided to do what most people wouldn't have the courage to do. She made a no-frills, totally authentic movie about her attempt to transform.
Supercharge Me - 30 Days Raw
Almost a year ago WLIR featured Jenna's original trailer, but since we have so many new readers, we wanted to take advantage of Jenna's recently posted before/after photos to reintroduce her story.
You can check out Jenna's blog and new trailer at 30daysraw.com

Via: Raw Food Right Now
A few days ago, the second most popular blog in the world, Boing Boing, featured chef Ani Phyo and all the good stuff she's been up to. Can you say "sa-weeeeeet!"
"This month, Ani's first (un)cookbook was published. If you're not hip to the raw food scene, Ani's Raw Food Kitchen will surprise you with recipes that somehow seem very familiar even if you've never eaten them before."
Yes indeed! Last week we actually featured one of those recipes, Kreamy Curry Dressing, but now were writing about Ani again just to remind you how cool she is. And, if you move quick you just might have a chance to meet her at one of her local book signings.
